    Simple shepherd’s pie recipe

    • Yield: 4 Servings

    Ingredients

    • 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
    • 2 large onions chopped
    • 500 grams mince
    • 2 tablespoons plain flour
    • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
    • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
    • 1 cup beef stock
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • ½ cup grated cheese
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 4 large potatoes to mash or frozen pom pom potatoes
    How to Make It
    1. Heat oil in on a medium heat in a large frying pan and add onion and cook until soft. Add mince and brown well stirring often.
    2. Drain off any excess liquid. Stir in flour add chutney, stock and tomato sauce. Bring to the boil then turn heat to low and simmer.
    3. Put mince into a large baking dish, top with mashed potatoes or frozen pom pom potatoes and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 180C for 20 minutes.
