Big hot tacos recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 large onion cut up small
  • 2 garlic cloves or 1 teaspoon from a jar
  • 2 tablespoons chilli powder optional
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 800 g mince
  • 1 can tomatoes with herbs or chilli added
  • 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
  • Lettuce iceberg is crunchy
  • Carrot, grated
  • Cheese, grated
  • Chopped tomatoes and cucumber if wanted
  • 8 large taco shells
How to Make It
  1. Heat the oil in a large fry pan and add onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the garlic, salt and pepper and chilli powder Cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in the beef mince. Cook, stirring mince to break up until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the can of tomatoes and sugar. Simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  5. Divide the filling evenly among taco shells add lettuce, carrot and cheese.
