The Bacon Brussels Sprouts would definitely be the delight of people who have gone low carb. Not only would it be their delight: it would have them obsessed. This Bacon Brussels Sprouts are savory, salty and crunchy on the outside; they are very tender on the inside.

For this recipe, frozen Brussels sprouts was chosen because of how easy it is to make more on the spot; it is very quick to add more  if you need to. You can take the frozen Brussels sprouts, pop them in the microwave (you can use the microwavable bag, and you can just drop them in a bowl) for about 5 minutes, until they thaw, then you can just chop them in half and add them to what you are cooking.

    Ingredients

    • 24 ounces Frozen Brussels Sprouts thawed and halved
    • 3 Tablespoons Bacon Fat or Lard
    • ¼ Cup Onion chopped
    • 1 Tablespoon garlic minced
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • salt to taste
    How to Make It
    1. The first step is to heat fat over medium heat in the cooking pot of the Foodi. Add onion, garlic, sprouts and seasonings, to the pot, sauté them while you gently stir them together.
    2. Continue to cook on Medium- High temperature until onions become very tender and translucent, thereafter, split the mixture into at least two batches.
    3. Place the air crisper basket, with the diffuser attached, on the cooking pot of the Foodi.
    4. After splitting the mixture into batches, add half of the batch to the basket. Cooking in batches will create space for air to circulate around the sprouts.
    5. Close the air crisping lid, after this select the air crisp function, set the temperature to 390 Degrees F and set the cooking time for 12-15 minutes. Check constantly for desired amount of crispness. For some, the crispier the better, for others moderateness does it; it depends on what works for you and how you like it.
    6. Once the first batch is done, remove it from the basket and add salt to taste; also carefully remove any charred bits in between batches. The next step is to repeat the process for the second batch.
