Florida Keys & Key West Chef's Table: Extraordinary Recipes from the Conch Republic

  • Yield: 1 Servings

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces (80/20) ground beef
  • 1 (1-ounce) slice cheddar cheese
  • 2 ounces pimento cheese spread
  • Favorite burger spice blend
  • 1 challah bun
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • M.E.A.T.’s Signature Ketchup
  • 1 leaf iceberg lettuce
  • 1 slice tomato
How to Make It
  1. Make two 3-ounce ground beef patties. Place cheddar cheese slice atop one patty. Spread pimento cheese atop the other patty. Put the two patties together so that all the cheese is in the middle. Press the patties together and crimp the edges so that all the cheese is sealed in the middle of the burger. Season with spice blend to taste.
  2. Heat a gas or charcoal grill or a flattop griddle. Cook the burger to medium-rare, about 2 minutes on each side. Toast bun lightly and brush cut sides with melted butter. Serve burger on bun with M.E.A.T.’s Signature Ketchup, lettuce, and tomato.
