  • Yield: 6 oreo turtles

Ingredients

  • 1 cup green candy melts
  • 6 Oreo cookies
  • 1 tube of green gel icing
  • 1 tube of green gel icing
  • 1⁄4 -1⁄2 cup graham cracker crumbs, optional
How to Make It
  1. Melt green candy melts in a candy melting electric pot according to package instructions, or in the microwave at 30-second increments.
  2. Dip your Oreo cookies into the melted chocolate using a candy melt dipping scoop or fork and cover completely. Place in refrigerator until chocolate hardens, approximately 5 minutes.
  3. Using the melted chocolate and small cake-decorating paintbrushes, paint six turtle heads about 1 inch long and 1⁄2 inch wide and twelve fins that are 1⁄2 inch long on a piece of parchment paper. Place in refrigerator until chocolate hardens, approximately 2–3 minutes.
  4. Attach the fins and head of the turtle to the bottom of the dipped Oreo cookies, using your cake-decorating paintbrushes and melted chocolate as a glue.
  5. Place turtles on Silpat or parchment paper and place in refrigerator until chocolate has hardened, approximately 5 minutes.
  6. Using the green gel icing, pipe a turtle shell design on the top of each turtle’s back. Top with sprinkles if you desire.
  7. If desired, lay your graham cracker crumbs on a plate or platter and use the crumbs as a fun way to display the Oreo Turtles in the sand.
